英国北面的空气似乎比南面更加清新, 天空也更加的篮. 爱丁堡今天的天气超级赞, 万里无云. 由于下午要赶路的原因, 上午没有安排很多时间去游edinburgh. 只能把昨天晚上准备好的景点以开车拍照的形式快速浏览一遍. 来了edinburgh, 那个castle肯定是要去看的啦.

今天去的时候正好在castle前面搭看台, The Edinburgh Military Tattoo在这里展开. Scotland Tourism Board是这样介绍的:
“The largest gathering of military musicians in the UK are set to perform at the 2006 showpiece armed service event, the 57th Edinburgh Military Tattoo, staged against the matchless backdrop of Edinburgh Castle. The production will feature a range of superb international performers with the centrepiece of the evening once again expected to be the spine-tingling sights and sounds of the world famous massed Pipes and Drums, the finest display anyone can witness anywhere in the world.”

看台严重阻挡了我的视线, 而且castle前面不能停车, 给观赏castle带来了不便. edinburgh好像游客很多, 街道上, castle门口到处都是游客.

接下来就去south queenferry和and Fife之间的Forth Bridge. This bridge was built between 1883 and 1890 by Sir John Fowler and Benjamin Baker, this bridge was one of the most magnificent feats of engineering ever seen. It was designed on the cantilever principle, with three towers, each 340 feet high. The bridge, which spans the River Forth, is 2765 yards long. It was opened on 4 March 1890 by Edward, the Prince of Wales. 这座桥位列苏格兰8大奇迹之首.

原计划还准备去north queenferry的的deep sea world看鲨鱼的, 可是再次由于时间原因和大桥塞车被迫取消了. 3个小时的车程一下子把我们带到了birmingham – a modern city. 刚下M6在birmingham的郊区就觉得整个城市有点想苏州, 无锡 和常州. 这里物价比伦敦便宜很多, shopping mall也很现代. 第一眼就爱上了这个城市的现代化建筑.
在birmingham吃了晚饭就驾车回到了egham, 整个”北伐”就这样欢快的结束了. 6天的旅行总共行驶1678.3 miles.
